Crime Reading Event with Music (Reading | Book-Talk | Live Music) with Christian Jaschinski
As a repeat offender, the Lemgo author and musician Christian Jaschinski is once again a guest at the St. Nicolai community centre and has his two great passions in his luggage: literature and music.
Christian Jaschinski's emotional thriller »STARCK and the third life« is the gripping third volume of the thriller series: »STARCK – Staatsanwalt im Schatten«. Between committedly presented text passages, the author chats with the guests about backgrounds, research and the origin of the story.
In between there is always music. Christian Jaschinski interprets title melodies of well-known films and series on the piano - from »Magnum« to »Hawaii 5.0« to »Pink Panther«. In addition, special compositions will be performed, which Jaschinski has written especially for the STARCK series. While »Die Komplizen« as an opulent work tells the story of departure and return, conflicts and trials, struggles and the struggle for decisions, the atmospheric nocturne »Die Kriegerin« impresses rather as quiet and emotional title music. For the third volume, two pieces have even been created: the title track "Three Lives", a profound Irish folk number and the lullaby "Kleines Schäfchen" for Starck's daughter Greta.
And what is the novel about?
Andreas Starck is finally on the verge of uncovering all the machinations for child abduction with which his daughter Greta was taken from him. He gets a disturbing video. It apparently shows him in a murder - with the unmistakeable threat that this recording will be published, he should continue to insist on reversing Greta's adoption.
When another murder is blamed for him, and Starck finds himself exposed to a new, unscrupulous opponent, he realises that the actual background and secrets around the fake adoption documents are far darker than he ever suspected.
Actually, Starck is as close to his daughter as he has been in years. But how can he eliminate his opponent without endangering his daughter? And is his daughter in the new family perhaps not only safer, but also happier?
